Can I get a Waterproofed Wristag?

For over a year we have been trying to make our Wristags waterproofed. The Wristag plastic casing that holds the technology was not initially designed to be waterproofed.  But after hundreds of hours of design and testing we have finally figured out how to make waterproofed Wristags.  Our next production run (scheduled for late summer or early fall, 2005) will include the manufacturing of thousands of waterproofed Wristags.

All Wristags purchased from the ionKids, the National Autism Assocation, Inkleaf or AV Tech Solutions web sites after February 15, 2005, will have enhanced water resistance.  The tag should easily withstand the water force from a faucet (such as when your child is washing his/her hands) or a rain shower. But the tag WILL NOT survive should it become submerged even for a very brief period of time.  If water penetrates the Wristag it will result in a short circuit of the wiring and will void your warranty.

Please watch our ionKids web site for updates on this.  We will be offering an upgrade program for owners of existing non-waterproofed Wristags.  Persons who have joined our Autism or Down syndrome communities or who bought units directly from Bluespan or who have registered their unit will automatically receive email updates on waterproofing and the upgrade program.
